Pay: $80,000

*Pay rates listed reflect the full rate for this position, including both the base pay and health and welfare benefits in accordance with applicable requirements. Pay is based on numerous factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

POSITION SUMMARY INFORMATION: DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS


Position Overview: In this role, you will assist with overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and functionality of the detention facility while supporting facility management staff in ensuring a safe, secure, and fully operational environment. You will help coordinate maintenance activities, contractor services, inspections, repairs, and operational projects related to facility infrastructure, equipment, and building systems. This position requires strong organizational skills, leadership abilities, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple operational priorities within a secure detention environment while ensuring compliance with government standards, safety regulations, and company policies.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with supervising facility maintenance operations, repair activities, contractor services, and preventative maintenance programs throughout the detention facility.
  • Monitor the condition and functionality of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security, lighting, and mechanical equipment.
  • Conduct facility inspections to identify maintenance deficiencies, safety hazards, operational concerns, or infrastructure repair needs.
  • Coordinate work orders, maintenance schedules, equipment servicing, and repair projects to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Support inventory management and accountability for maintenance supplies, tools, equipment, and operational materials.
  • Assist with managing contractor access, vendor services, and facility improvement projects while ensuring compliance with security procedures.
  • Prepare maintenance reports, inspection documentation, repair records, and operational summaries for facility leadership review.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance situations, equipment failures, and urgent operational issues as needed.
  • Coordinate with detention personnel, security staff, transportation teams, and outside vendors regarding facility operations and repair activities.
  • Ensure all facility operations, maintenance procedures, and repair activities comply with government detention standards, OSHA requirements, and company policies.


Qualifications:

  • Must possess a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in facility management, operations, or maintenance engineering, preferably within a detention, correctional, institutional, or high-security environment.
  • Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions, and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations plicable to large-scale physical plants and building maintenance.
  • Must possess the ability to maintain strict emotional control, situational awareness, and professional communication while operating within a secure detention facility.
  • Must be able to provide proof of citizenship or legal US work authorization.
  • If prior active-duty military, must provide copies of DD214(s) showing discharge condition.
  • Must consent to fingerprinting.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Clean criminal record and ability to pass a comprehensive background check and security screening.
  • Ability to pass a preemployment medical assessment and drug screening.
  • Excellent communication, observation, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure and in high-stress situations.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.


Work Environment:

Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.


Physical Requirements:

Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach. Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
