The Medication Technician reports to the supervisor on duty as well as the Wellness Director.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eEssential Functions of the Medication Technician\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eAdministers or assists with or supervises the administration of medications according to the physician order on the medication administration record (MAR).\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eDocuments medications administered on the MAR in accordance with company policy; Checks MARs immediately after administration and prior to end of shift to ensure documentation is complete and accurate.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eConducts change of shift report with oncoming/outgoing shift personnel.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eMaintains security of medication cart and narcotic keys during entire shift; Conducts narcotic count at the beginning and end of every shift in accordance with company policies and procedures.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eProvides assistance with activities of daily living such as with bathing, dressing, personal hygiene (includes shaving, oral care, nail care, hair care, foot care), toileting, eating, and ambulation/mobility.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWorks collaboratively with peers and other team members.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eMaintains professional demeanor at all times when interacting with residents and families.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eReports any suspected or witnessed instances of verbal, mental, or physical abuse to licensed staff immediately.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eUtilizes safe transfer techniques when assisting residents with mobility.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eObserves and reports changes in residents’ physical condition and cognitive/emotional status to Wellness Director or charge nurse, as needed.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eAssists residents with swallowing difficulty with eating.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eResponds to emergencies in a prompt and calm manner; Immediately reports such emergencies to the charge nurse and/or Wellness Director.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eUnderstands and uses Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Standard Precautions, OSHA\u0026#39;s Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens standard, and follows established infection control procedures, hazardous communication, and other safety rules.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eEnsures cleanliness of residents\u0026#39; rooms and promptly reports all violations of safety and sanitation rules to supervisor.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eDocuments provision of services on company forms.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eOperates designated medical equipment, copy, scan, fax machines, and telephone.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eResponsible for planning the wellness schedule preferably 1 month in advance but no less than 2 weeks.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eParticipates in an on-call rotation for staffing needs;
