Job Description
Description

At Stuff, we’re building products that reach more than 2 million New Zealanders every week, and we’re doing it faster than ever by putting AI tools at the centre of how we work. We’re looking for a technically-minded Product Owner to join our Product team: someone who knows their way around a test suite, has experimented with AI to automate the boring stuff, and gets genuinely excited about what’s possible when a team ships with intent.
This is a delivery role with real technical depth; where you’ll work alongside engineers who care about quality, PMs who think strategically, and a team that’s actively using AI to move faster: writing better tickets, automating test coverage, and getting to “done” without the drag. If you’ve worked in development, testing or automation and found yourself drawn to the product and delivery side of the fence, this is the role you’ve been waiting for.
About the RoleYou’ll be the engine behind turning product vision into shipped work - keeping delivery sharp, aligned to customer needs, and grounded in what actually matters to the business.
Working closely with Product Managers, you’ll own the backlog, drive refinement, and make sure nothing gets stuck - whether that’s an unclear requirement, a missing test case, or a dependency nobody’s talked about yet. Your technical background means you understand what good delivery actually looks like from the inside out.
You’ll also get to shape how we use AI day-to-day. We’re a team that experiments: using AI to draft and refine stories, speed up QA, automate the repetitive, and explore what’s next. If you’ve already been tinkering in this space, you’ll fit right in.
Requirements

  • Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring work is prioritised and aligned to business goals
  • Translate roadmap initiatives into clear user stories and requirements
  • Lead agile ceremonies including sprint planning, refinement, reviews and retrospectives
  • Work closely with engineers, designers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes
  • Track delivery performance, product metrics and OKR progress
  • Remove delivery roadblocks and drive continuous improvement
  • Communicate roadmap progress, priorities and risks across the business
