Normalising and revitalising te reo Māori is what Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori (Te Taura Whiri), the Māori Language Commission does.
About the Roles
We have two roles available in our communications and promotions team - Te Toko Reo. As the voice of Te Taura Whiri, the team takes a lead role in promoting te reo Māori as a living language on a variety of digital platforms, through events and in relationships with a range of groups.
Communications Advisor
The Communications Advisor supports across Te Toko Reo on the delivery of internal and external communications, media, digital content, and events whether it is planning and delivery, data and insights or evaluation – we are a full-service team.
This role would suit someone who has started their communications career, has enough experience to do a range of communications functions and is comfortable working in a reo Māori environment.

About You
We are looking for people who:
Speaking and writing in te reo Māori is preferred for both roles – you do not have to be an expert or fluent level but being on your reo Māori journey is important.
What we offer
Salary band between $75,000 - $95,000 depending on experience plus Kiwisaver and te reo Māori allowance based on Level Finder Examination.
You must have a legal right to work in New Zealand
